25 YEARS OF RESEARCH AND 10,000 SUCCESS STORIES HAVE YOUR BACK

Our best-in-class results come from 25-plus years of metabolism research

The science behind ManUP™ comes from some of the top metabolism research centers in the world.

Our evidence-based program integrates insights from 10,000 successful individuals.

These are regular people who lost an average of 70 pounds and kept it off for at least six years.

THE SCIENCE OF METABOLIC FLEXIBILITY

ManUP™ is different than any other fitness, weight loss, and healthy living program on the market in part due to our approach to help you build a more flexible metabolism.

What is metabolic flexibility?

Metabolic flexibility is the ability to switch back and forth between the two major energy substrates -- glucose and fat -- based on availability and need

What does it mean to have an inflexible metabolism?

An inflexible (unhealthy) metabolism means your body doesn't switch rapidly between utilization of glucose to use of fat in response to fat availability, leading to preferential storage versus utilization of fat.

Who's at risk of having an inflexible metabolism?

You may be at higher risk of having an inflexible metabolism if you are overweight or obese and are physically inactive, or if you have type two diabetes or metabolic syndrome

What’s the benefit of a flexible metabolism?

You'll burn more fat because a flexible metabolism more readily switches from using glucose to using fat as a source of fuel- i.e., the body increases its fat oxidation rate.

How does ManUP™ help build a flexible metabolism?

  • Food as fuel: You'll consume a mix of lean proteins, complex carbohydrates, and healthy fats five-to-six times a day (while limiting your sugar intake), so that your metabolism is forced to burn more fat, which over time will help it grow more flexible, in a similar vein to how a muscle grows with greater reps/sets.
  • Physical Activity: The regular aerobic activity you'll perform on the program increases the demand for fat as fuel by muscles and over time will increase mitochondrial number and capacity to burn fat, which in turn will build metabolic flexibility.
